Our associates at the Great Satan Quarterly write in to apprise us of the existence of "Jews-for-Allah". I'm not sure I've ever seen them in Grand Central Station, but they do seem to have a somewhat extensive website.

President Bush, you've just conquered Iraq - What are you going to do next? Well, Pat Robertson seems to think that Isaiah thinks we should invade Syria.

Reader Hillel responds to "Iceland Man," writing:

Dear Mr. Iceland Man, (person?)
I read your post with a good deal of incredulity. Do you really mean to compare anti-semitism with either philo-semitism or opposing the study of evolution? Let's try a quick true-false quiz:
1) True or false: Hatred of any ethinic group (lets say, hypothetically...Jews) leads to an increase in the number of attacks,
murders, rapes, pogroms and non-binding resolutions committed against said Ethnic group? (Hint: The correct answer is True)
2) True or False: Love of an ethnic group increases the number of attacks, murders, rapes and pogroms against said ethnic group? (Hint: The correct answer is False)
3) True or False: Teaching evolution in the public school system will lead to attacks, murders, rapes and pogroms against Christians? (I think you can figure this one out on your own).
Conclusion: If you believe attacks, murders, rapes and pogroms are bad things, you will be concerned with anti-semitism, and not philo-semitisim or evolution.

Second, you stated "the Palestinian Arabs are fighting back with the minimal guerrilla tactics due lack of Sovereignty to
create an adequate defence." 2 Quick questions on this: 1) When you say "minimal guerilla tactics," does that refer to blowing up school buses or shooting up discos and restaurants? 2) Have you ever considered WHY there's a lack of sovereignty in Gaza? Is it because a)the Israelis quash every Palestinian leader who tries to stop terorism and negotiate, or b) Palestinian terrorists have killed, threatened and repressed every potential Palestinian leader who might otherwise call for an end to the terrorism and try to negotiate?
Someone once told me the answer to this question was A. I asked him for an example. I'm still waiting...

Thanks for writing.

From Way Out In Left Field: Did you know that Hawaii's governor is Jewish? I didn't, until I read this AP piece. What's more interesting is this passage:

Asked if she has any hopes of raising the profile of Hawaii's Jews, Lingle flatly replies ``no.'' When pressed, Lingle says ``through the normal course of things'' she suspects she is garnering more attention for people of her faith. ``But it's not something conscious that I'd like to set out to do.''
I'm not totally sure what to make of that, but I think that I like it better than either the sideshow that Lieberman's turned into or the mission that, say, Ashcroft thinks he's on.

Received a letter in response to my Jewsweek interview with Evan Coyne Maloney:

Dear Steven:
I write in regards of your Interview "Sects, lies, and videotape" with
Filmmaker Evan Coyne Maloney.
I must say that I found it to be bias and manipulative. For example, on
of your questions was: "You've seen how anti-Semitism breeds in these
quarters -- what do you think can be done to stop it?" I, for one,
think that this is another example of neglecting the growing Philo-Semitism
in the Western World. By saying that we must eradicate the hatred of Jews,
is just as ridiculous as saying that we must eradicate the study of Evolution
in the American school system because it posses as a threat to the
Christian religion. I think that these Anti-Jews in the San Francisco
protest made various valid points. I do think that Israel position on
the Palestinians is monstrous and that the Palestinian Arabs are fighting
back with the minimal guerrilla tactics due lack of Sovereignty to create an
adequate defence (military, police etc)
I do think that Anti-Semitism is because of stereotyping and ignorance.
However, this goes for the Philo-Semites as well.
Otherwise, you think that you write good articles.
Warm regards from Iceland and have a good Easter holiday,

Cute. Responses welcome at my AOL address.
